ELMHURST, Ill. - The Elmhurst University men's soccer team kicked off its 2026 campaign with a 2-0 shutout win against Lake Forest College on Tuesday night at Langhorst Field.
After a scoreless first half, Andrew Walters put the Bluejays on the board just minutes into the second half with a penalty kick goal following a handball by Lake Forest (0-1-0) in the box. Jacob Wipke got in on the scoring action with a goal of his own at 83:37 off an assist from Charlie Terriquez to secure Elmhurst (1-0-0) the 2-0 victory.
Niyen Ruffin grabbed his first shutout of the season, totaling six saves on the night.
