Wheaton, IL - Elmhurst track and field delivered an all-around performance at the Old Fashioned Track Meet, highlighted by multiple first-place finishes and podium efforts across both the women's and men's fields.
On the women's side, the Bluejays dominated the sprint events early. Freshman Jasha James captured first in the 100 with a time of 12.03, followed closely by junior Tiana Grady in second at 12.27. Grady went on to win the 200 (25.10) and added another first-place finish in the 100-meter hurdles (14.56), leading a standout day on the track. Freshman Alma Diabi placed second in the 200 (25.43), while junior Carmela Woods took first in the 400 (56.76) and sophomore Violet Schramm added a third-place finish (58.94).
Elmhurst continued its success in distance events, with junior Jessica Solar winning the 3K (10:56.48) and senior Alyssa Roellu finishing second (11:12.62). In the 800, senior Molly Roberts placed second (2:22.40), while junior Nayeli Villegas followed in third (2:25.77). The hurdles group also contributed, with junior Jasmine Pickett winning the 400-meter hurdles (1:07.56) and junior Olivia Brach finishing third (1:10.17).
The Bluejays excelled in relays and field events as well. The 4x100 relay team of Grady, James, Woods, and Paulina Tinajero took first with a time of 47.04. Tinajero also won the long jump (5.36m), while sophomore Chloe Selmer placed second (5.26m). Selmer also captured first in the triple jump (11.15m), with Vanessa Carr (11.05m) and Tinajero (11.01m) rounding out a Bluejay sweep of the podium. In other field events, Angelina Camici placed second in the high jump (1.59m), and freshman Jessica Popko earned third in the pole vault (3.10m).
On the men's side, Elmhurst continued with key performances across multiple events. The 4x400 relay team of Michael Bailey, Chris Marroquin, Kayden Miller, and David Monteilh secured a first-place finish with a time of 3:33.23. Individually, freshman Austin Long won the high jump (1.92m), while junior Kayton Garrett claimed first in the long jump (6.43m) and Monteilh added a third-place finish (6.27m).
On the track performances were equally strong, with junior Zaiden Smith placing second in the 400 (50.00) and junior Kaiden Miller finishing third in the 800 (1:50.90). In distance events, junior Eric Martinez took second in the 5K (15:30.86). The field group added depth as sophomore Hassan Kamara placed third in the triple jump (13.38m) and junior Jaedon Thompson secured second in the discus (41.16m)
The Bluejays Captured 11 first-place finishes, with multiple podium finishes. On the Women's side taking nine out of eleven of Elmhurst's first-place finishes names them the champions of the meet with a total score of 82.
