NOTRE DAME, Ind. – Elmhurst Women's Lacrosse kicked off a three-game road swing on Saturday, as the Bluejays struggled to keep pace with Saint Mary's College (Ind.), falling to the Belles 19-4.
Three of the Jays' four goals game in the first half, with Grace Lorkiewicz and Hannah Jacob both finding the back of the net with unassisted goals, but the home side jumped out to a 5-0 advantage before Elmhurst would get on the board.
Lorkiewicz struck again early in the second, but penalties would lead to five woman-up goals for Saint Mary's as the Bells pulled away. Ashley Kay Sardon would add a goal for Elmhurst early in the third quarter, for her team-leading 14th of the season.
The Bluejays look to bounce back when they travel to Hanover (Ind.) on Wednesday, March 25 for a matchup beginning at 4:00 p.m. CT.
