Track & Field competes at Keck D-III Select

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – A total of 16 personal records were set between the Elmhurst men's and women's track & field teams on Saturday, as the Bluejays competed at the Keck D-III Select, hosted by Illinois Wesleyan.

The Bluejay sprinters and mid-distance athletes led the way, highlighted by five personal-bests falling in the 60 meters. Paulina Tinajero would post the fastest time in the women's 60 meter prelims, clocking in at 7.68 seconds and improving to No. 15 nationally on the Division III performance list. Tiana Grady qualified for the 60 meter finals, posting a time of 7.79 seconds, good for 35th in the nation.

Tinajero also shined in the jumping events, competing in the women's triple jump by clearing 11.51m (37' 9.25") to improve her rank to No. 13 in Division III. In the women's long jump, Sherlyn Carrasco earned the Bluejays lone win of the day,  taking her first career win with a jump of 5.37m (17' 7.5").

On the men's side, Logan Turney would lead the way in the men's pole vault, climbing the rankings to No. 27 with his season-best mark of 4.75m (15' 7").

Three athletes would take out two personal records in the same day, in Alma Diabi, Julietta Contreras, and Violet Schramm. The full list of P.R.s include:

Elmhurst will now prepare for the Chicagoland Indoor Championships, hosted by North Central College on Saturday, Feb. 14.
