BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – By claiming three individual titles over the weekend, Elmhurst Women's Track & Field claimed the 2026 CCIW Indoor Track & Field Championships, hosted at Illinois Wesleyan.
The Bluejays collected 155.3 points to claim the team title, more than 40 points over the rest of the league. Elmhurst picked up individual championships in the women's 60 meter hurdles, in Tiana Grady, the women's 400 meters with Carmela Woods, and Chloe Selmer took the crown in the women's long jump.
After posting the second-fastest 60m Hurdles time in the preliminaries, Grady took the top spot with a time of 8.82 for her second career indoor title, and fourth CCIW championship overall. Her time sets a new season best and moves Grady up to No. 20 nationally in the event.
Woods picked up the victory in the 400 meters, with the only sub-58 time in the field, finishing in 57.47. The win is Woods' fifth of the season in the 400, as she earns her second career CCIW title.
In the women's long jump, Selmer was the lone athlete to clear 19 feet with a jump of 5.88m (19' 3.5") in her fifth of six attempts. The sophomore earns her first career CCIW title, and her second long jump win of the indoor season.
On the men's side, the Bluejays picked up one individual title, with junior Jaedon Thompson winning the men's Heptathlon. Thompson finished first in two events, winning the long jump and shot put, and secured the win with second-place results in the 60 meter dash and pole vault. The CCIW title is the first for Thompson, who wins his first career multi-event.
Thompson finishes as the Bluejays' top scorer, earning ten points toward the team total with his victory in the heptathlon. On the women's side, 19 athletes contributed to the point total, with seven Jays scoring ten or more points throughout the weekend. Grady and Woods each led the way with 20 points apiece; Grady scored with a win in the 60m Hurdles, 3rd in the women's 200 meters, and 5th in the 60 meters. Woods posted scoring performances with the win in the 400, followed by a second-place finish in the 200, and 7th in the 60.
The team title is the second CCIW indoor championship in program history, after the Bluejays claimed the title for the first time last year. With the win, Elmhurst has claimed three consecutive CCIW women's championships between indoor and outdoor seasons.
