Busker Secures Second Team Academic All-American Honors

GREENWOOD, Ind. - Elmhurst University graduate student and women's track and field student-athlete Alyssa Busker earned Second Team Academic All-American honors from College Sports Communicators for her achievements both on the track and in the classroom, as announced Tuesday afternoon.

Busker, a native of Plainfield, Illinois, pursued graduate studies in Communication Sciences and Disorders. She maintained a 3.67 graduate GPA and had a 3.74 undergraduate cumulative GPA.

During the 2024-25 season, Busker held multiple top regional and national rankings. She ranked number one regionally and number two nationally in the indoor 60-meter dash with a time of 7.45 seconds. She also ranked number one regionally and number two nationally in the indoor 200-meter dash with a time of 24.31 seconds. Outdoors, she ranked number one regionally and number four nationally in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.60 seconds, and number one regionally and number two nationally in the 200-meter dash with a time of 23.62 seconds. Her outdoor 4x100-meter relay team ranked number one both regionally and nationally with a time of 45.61 seconds.

Busker earned All-America honors as a two-time Indoor NCAA First Team All-American in the 60-meter (4th place) and 200-meter (2nd place) events. She was also a three-time Outdoor NCAA First Team All-American with finishes of third place in the 100-meter and 200-meter and second place in the 4x100-meter relay. She received USTFCCCA Indoor Midwest Region Track Athlete of the Year and was named USTFCCCA Athlete of the Week twice during the season.

She won conference championships indoors in the 55-meter, 200-meter, and 4x400-meter relay, and outdoors in the 100-meter, 200-meter, and 4x100-meter relay. She earned Indoor and Outdoor CCIW Track Athlete of the Meet honors. Busker set Elmhurst school records in the indoor 55-meter, 60-meter, and 200-meter, as well as the outdoor 100-meter, 200-meter, and 4x100-meter relay. She was also named Elmhurst Female Athlete of the Year for the 2024-25 season.
