GENEVA - Day two of the NCAA Division III Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championships saw Elmhurst student-athletes continue their postseason campaigns, with
Alyssa Busker and
Lauren Marshall in the 100m Dash prelims, and
Nakala Nadeau in the 100m Hurdles prelims.
Senior Lauren Marshall capped off her individual collegiate career with a strong showing in the 100-meter dash, placing 13th overall with a time of 11.94 seconds in heat three. Though she narrowly missed qualifying for the final, her performance earned her Second Team All-American honors. Joining Marshall in the sprints was fellow senior Alyssa Busker, who delivered one of the standout performances of the day for the Bluejays. Running in the same event, Busker clocked an 11.65—the third-fastest overall time—to secure a spot in the national final on Saturday.
In the 100-meter hurdles, senior Nakala Nadeau represented Elmhurst in a fiercely competitive field. Running in the third heat, Nadeau clocked a 14.72, placing 18th overall. While it wasn't enough to advance, her appearance at nationals capped off a stellar career in the Carolina Blue and Navy.
The Bluejays will run in three finals events on Championship Saturday, with the women's 4x100m Relay kicking the day off at 12:15 p.m. CT. Busker will then represent Elmhurst in the 100m and 200m finals at 1:40 p.m. CT and 2:50 p.m. CT, respectively.
