ELMHURST, Ill. - It was a standout weekend for the Elmhurst women's track and field team as athletes competed across three meets—the Don Church Twilight Invite, the LBSU Pacific Coast Intercollegiate, and the LBSU Beach Invitational, with additional entries at the La Verne Leopard Invitational. The Bluejays turned in a slew of personal bests, top finishes, and school record-breaking performances.
At the Don Church Twilight Invite on April 17, Gianna Konieczny highlighted the sprints with an 8th place finish in the 100 meters, clocking a personal best of 12.94. Elisha Hannon followed up with a PR in the 200 meters at 27.94, while Violet Schramm placed 5th in the 400 meters with a career-best 1:03.31. The middle-distance crew delivered as well, with Paige Rewerts finishing 5th in the 800 meters at 2:30.13, closely followed by Elizabeth Jones in 9th at 2:31.42, also a PR. Anna Andretich crossed in 3:01.54. In the 1500 meters, Jessica Solar ran a personal best of 5:11.27, while Meredith Mounier followed with her own PR at 5:27.10.
In the 3000 meters, all three Elmhurst runners recorded career bests: Katie Nalley placed 9th in 11:11.09, Alyssa Roelli 10th in 11:17.41, and Julietta Contreras finished in 12:14.35. Hurdles saw a breakthrough performance from Anna Andretich, who won the 100-meter hurdles in a blazing 15.45—a personal best and the fifth-fastest time in program history. Annabeth Webb added a 9th place finish in 19.32, also a PR. Konieczny doubled back in the 400-meter hurdles to finish 6th with a personal best of 1:08.63, the seventh-fastest time in Elmhurst history.
Field events were just as strong. In the high jump, Angelina Camaci cleared 1.53m for 4th place, while Caylah Boyd took 5th at 1.48m. In the long jump, Vanessa Carr won with a leap of 5.23m, followed by Sherlyn Carrasco in 4th at 5.06m, and Andretich in 8th at 4.65m. Carr also secured 2nd place in the triple jump at 10.31m, with Carrasco placing 6th at 9.59m. In throws, Andretich tossed a personal best 7.32m in the shot put, and Caroline Slater finished 7th in the javelin with a throw of 25.85m.
Meanwhile, at the LBSU Pacific Coast Intercollegiate, Brooke Greaves turned in two personal bests: 12.99 in the 100 meters and 26.38 in the 200 meters.
At the La Verne Leopard Invitational, Ashley Kachurik made history in the 3000m steeplechase, placing 9th in 11:12.49—the second-fastest time in school history.
The weekend concluded with even more elite performances at the LBSU Beach Invitational on April 18-19. Alyssa Busker led the way in the 100 meters, finishing 9th in 11.96, while Chloe Selmer clocked a personal best of 12.62. Busker came back in the 200 meters to take 3rd overall in 23.95, tying the Elmhurst school record. In the 100-meter hurdles, Nakala Nadeau posted a season-best 14.48, while teammates Tiana Grady (14.69) and Brooke Greaves (14.74) ran personal bests, becoming the third- and fourth-fastest performers in school history, respectively.
The pinnacle of the weekend came in the 4x100-meter relay, where the team of Hannah Schwarz, Busker, Lauren Marshall, and Grady blazed to a 2nd place finish in 45.61—setting a new Elmhurst school record and clocking the second-fastest time in NCAA Division III history.
