ELMHURST, Ill. - The Elmhurst University women's lacrosse teams hosted University Wisconsin-Stevens Point on Monday night, March 17th.Â
The Bluejays (5-2), were led by a combination of
Hannah Jacob with four goals and an assist, along with
Gracie Eastman with two goals and three assists.Â
The Pointers (0-5), were led by Marissa Van Dyke with a goal and three assists along with Emily Griege who made 13 saves on the night.Â
The Bluejays would score the first goal of the game, yet it was the Pointers would would take the lead scoring back to back goals in a minute to lead 2-1. Both teams would then trade goals in the span of a minute, leading to the Jays scoring two goals to end the First quarter leading 4-3. The Jays would start off the Second quarter on fires as they would score three straight goals to lead the Pointers 7-3. UWSP would get a goal back to bring it to 7-4 in favor of the Jays heading into halftime.Â
The Third quarter would see the Bluejays score two goals unanswered again to start leading 9-4. The Pointers would them claw their way back scoring two goals to end the quarter trailing the Jays 9-6. In the Fourth quarter, UWSP would score quickly to bring the Jays lead down to two. Bluejays' Eastman would add a much needed insurance goal with seven and a half minutes left. The Pointers would then score two goals with under two minutes remaining, but the Jays were able to hold on winning 10-9 to win their third game straight.Â

The Bluejays are back in action on Sunday, March 23rd as they host Lewis & Clark College at 12:00 pm.Â
