Elmhurst Competes at IWU Keck DIII Select

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Elmhurst University women's track and field team delivered a strong performance at the Keck DIII Select, hosted by Illinois Wesleyan University, highlighted by several personal and season-best efforts across multiple events.

The meet began with the 60-meter dash, where Alyssa Busker captured first place in a swift 7.63 seconds. Paulina Tinajero earned fifth with a personal-best time of 7.84, the fifth-fastest in school history, while Lauren Marshall placed sixth in 7.85. In the 60-meter hurdles, Nakala Nadeau claimed second in 8.87, a time that ranks 13th in Division III this season, and Brooke Greaves took ninth with a personal-best 9.20.

Busker continued her winning streak in the 200 meters, crossing the line first in 25.01. Carmela Woods placed seventh with a season-best 25.99, while Jenna Smolen ran a personal-best 27.95. In the 400 meters, Smolen notched another personal best with a time of 1:06.86. The mid-distance events saw Molly Roberts shine in the 800 meters, running a personal-best 2:24.20, followed by Elizabeth Jones' season-best 2:39.77. In the mile, Jade Benavides led the team with a season-best 5:42.86, trailed by personal-best performances from Julietta Contreras (6:04.86) and Annie Hathaway (6:21.13), and a season-best 6:11.59 from Natalie Wagner. In the 3000 meters, Meredith Mounier and Alyssa Roelli both achieved personal bests, finishing in 11:35.15 and 11:35.75, respectively.

The field events featured notable marks as well. In the high jump, Hailey Caraway cleared 1.55 meters to finish seventh, and Greaves tied her personal best with a jump of 1.50 meters, placing eighth and earning the 10th-best mark in school history. Annabeth Webb cleared a season-best 1.40 meters. In the pole vault, Kate Weber took sixth with a vault of 3.26 meters, while Anna Andretich finished sixth in the triple jump with a leap of 10.93 meters.

The meet concluded with a strong showing in the 4x400-meter relay, as the team of Busker, Marshall, Woods, and Sadie Hartmann finished fourth with a season-best time of 4:02.13, currently the 27th-best mark in Division III this season.

Elmhurst takes on the Chicagoland Championships next Friday, Feb. 14, hosted by North Central College in Naperville, Ill.
