NAPERVILLE, Ill. - Lauren Marshall of the Elmhurst University women's track and field team earned CCIW Track Student-Athlete of the Week honors, as announced by the conference office Wednesday morning.
Marshall had a standout showing at last Friday's Chicagoland Indoor Championship, hosted by North Central College. Marshall took the 60m title with a personal-best 7.60, ranking second in Elmhurst history. The mark puts her second in the conference to teammate
Alyssa Busker, and fourth in NCAA Division III. Marshall also placed second in the 200m with a time of 25.64. In addition to her success on the track, Marshall improved her personal best in the long jump to 5.83m, the second-best mark in EU history and ranking sixth in Division III.
Marshall and the Jays have one final tune up before next weekend's CCIW Indoor Championships this Friday, Feb. 21 at the F. Lee Slick Invitational hosted again by North Central in Naperville, Ill.
