ELMHURST, Ill. - The Elmhurst University women's track and field team split their Friday at two separate meets, having standout performances from each meet.
A small contingent of student-athletes competed at the GVSU Big Meet, highlighted by Alyssa Busker's record-breaking effort in the 200m. Busker secured third place with a blazing time of 24.25, setting a new school record and ranking third in Division III this season. She also impressed in the 60m dash, finishing fourth in 7.57. In the 60m hurdles, Nakala Nadeau ran a season-best 8.85 in the prelims, securing the 13th fastest time in Division III this year and finishing ninth overall.
The majority of the Bluejays competed at the Chicagoland Indoor Championships, where Elmhurst continued its momentum with several top finishes and personal bests. Lauren Marshall claimed victory in the 60m with a personal-best 7.60, marking the second-fastest time in Elmhurst history. She later placed second in the 200m (25.64), while Tiana Grady took fifth in the 60m (7.89) and second in the 60m hurdles (8.98).
The distance squad also shined, with Molly Roberts running a personal-best 5:19.72 in the mile for ninth place, ranking ninth in program history. The relay teams delivered strong performances, with the Distance Medley Relay team finishing second (13:50.00) and the 4x400m relay team placing fourth (4:12.77), securing the ninth-fastest time in school history.
In the field events, Chloe Selmer shattered the school record in the long jump with a 5.86m leap, ranking fourth in Division III, while Marshall followed closely in third (5.83m), the second-best mark in program history. Selmer also claimed victory in the triple jump (11.54m), ranking third all-time at Elmhurst and 19th in Division III. Brooke Greaves took first in the high jump (1.49m), while Kate Weber cleared 3.18m in the pole vault for seventh.
