BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Elmhurst University women's track and field team delivered an impressive performance at the I-55 Invitational hosted by Illinois Wesleyan University on Saturday (Jan. 18). The team notched several first-place finishes, lifetime bests, and historic marks, showcasing their depth and competitiveness across a wide range of events.
Lauren Marshall blazed to victory in the 60m with a time of 7.67, the third-fastest mark in Elmhurst history. Teammates Tiana Grady and Carmela Woods rounded out the top five, finishing third (8.03) and fifth (8.22), respectively. In the 200m, Marshall continued her stellar meet with a second-place finish in 25.95, closely followed by Grady in third (26.27). Woods added another top-five finish, crossing in fifth at 26.95.
In the 400m, Sherlyn Cebero Flores claimed the top spot with a time of 1:06.39, while Jenna Smolen added a strong third-place effort, finishing in 1:09.24. Molly Roberts recorded a lifetime best of 5:35.59 to take first place in the mile. Jessica Solar (5:46.98) and Alyssa Roelli (5:50.77) followed in third and fourth, with Solar also achieving a personal best.
In the 3000m, Katie Nalley led the Bluejays with a third-place finish in 11:50.51, while Molly Glover secured fourth with a time of 12:05.27.
In the 60m hurdles, Nakala Nadeau emerged victorious in 9.14, with Tiana Grady (9.22) and Brooke Greaves (9.36) taking second and third. Greaves also achieved a lifetime best, contributing to Elmhurst's podium sweep.
In the 4x400m Relay, the team of Woods, Cebero Flores, Gianna Konieczny, and Saide Hartmann clocked in at 4:15.33 for a third-place finish.
In the high jump, Angelina Camaci finished third, and Hailey Caraway tied for fifth with a clearance of 1.55m, tying the eighth-best mark in Elmhurst history. Paulina Tinajero soared to first place in the long jump with a leap of 5.71m, while Lauren Marshall (5.43m) and Chloe Selmer (5.30m) secured second and third. Selmer continued her stellar meet in the triple jump with a second-place mark of 11.15m, the fourth-best in program history. Tinajero added a third-place finish (10.93m), and Vanessa Carr's fifth-place jump of 10.61m was the eighth-best in school history.
In the shot put, Caroline Slater earned second place with a throw of 10.81m, and Sabrina Kadow finished fifth in the 1200m with a time of 4:14.66, rounding out the Bluejays' strong showing across all events.
