MILWAUKEE, Wis. -Â The Elmhurst University women's tennis team fell, 2-5, to Wisconsin Lutheran Friday afternoon on the road.
Elmhurst (0-2) dropped the doubles point despite a fight at No. 1 doubles, where
Anna Sophia Stone and
Chloe Webb fell 6-4 to Olson and Schmidt of WLC, while the team of
Reese Coon and
Olivia Grabowski fell 6-2 to Kelley and Smith.
In singles play, Webb was able to defeat Olson of WLC in three sets (6-4, 2-6, 10-3) at No. 2 singles, while
Mia Merrell won in straight sets 7-5, 6-0 to put two points for the Jays on the board. However, Elmhurst dropped singles matches on No.'s 1, 3, 4, and 6 and ultimately fell, 2-5, to the host Warriors.

Elmhurst returns to Lester Brune Tennis Courts next Tuesday, Sept. 10, hosting Ripon College at 4:00 p.m.
