ELMHURST, Ill. - The Elmhurst men's soccer team hosted Nebraska Wesleyan University on Sunday afternoon and Langhorst Field.
The Bluejays (4-1-2), two goals came from
Maciej Rzadkosz 34' and
Evan Thornton 84', assisted by
Fernando Delgado.
Niyen Ruffin also made five saves on the day.
The Prarie Wolves (3-3), lone goal came from Alex Kohler 4', goalkeeper Zachary Weis made six saves on the day.
The Prarie Wolves started the game off with a bang with a goal from Kohler in the 4', and continue to pour pressure onto the Bluejays for the first 20 minutes of the game. The Bluejays would take over as Rzadkosz was able to knock in a goal in the 34' taking a 1-1 tie into halftiem. The Prarie Wolves would out shoot the Bluejays 12-6 in the first half. In the second half, the Bluejays would start to take control as they would have possession for a good majority of the second half, in the 84' Thornton would knock in the game winning goal as the Bluejays would win 2-1.
