KENOSHA, Wis. -Â The Elmhurst University men's tennis team opened the 2024-25 season at the CCIW Individual Tournament on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 7-8.
The Jays competed in both individual and doubles-team action at the event, with nearly all members of the team making the trip to Kenosha for the season-opening event.Â
In singles flight 3,
Russell Reyes placed eighth in his draw, while two Jays faced off in the 7/8th place match in flight four, as
Emiliano Montenegro-Galarza took down
Muhammad Salman to take seventh.Â
It was another all-Bluejay match in the 7/8th place match in flight five, as
Cory Freed downed
Giannis Varsamis, while
Charalampos Vasilopoulos bounced back from an opening-round loss to take fifth place in flight six.
Roberto Koziol wrapped up singles action for Elmhurst with a sixth-place finish in flight seven.
In doubles action, the team of Varsamis/Vasilopoulos placed seventh in flight three.
