AURORA, Ill. - The Elmhurst University women's volleyball team wrapped up competition at the Jim Coleman Classic with a 0-3 loss to No. 23 Cornell College Saturday afternoon.
Elmhurst (0-3) was unable to gain momentum against their first nationally-ranked team of the season, allowing multiple scoring runs to pile on and ultimately proved to be too much to overcome. Cornell (2-1) showed their strength from the service line and at the net, notching eight aces and six blocks in the sweep.
Elise Rossing led the way for the Jays with eight kills and four digs, while
Kali Phillips hit an efficient .545 with seven kills on 11 attempts in the match. Meredith Rowe also tallied six kills from the middle in the match
