ELMHURST, Ill. – Elmhurst University and Director of Athletics Dr. Glen Brittich have announced the hiring of Tyler Abuelhawa as the department's first Athletic Operations Coordinator.

"Tyler is an individual with an unparalleled work ethic and passion for Elmhurst University. This was apparent from the moment he stepped foot on our campus several years ago as a student-athlete" Dr. Brittich said. "Tyler has proven through many years he has a significantly bright future ahead of him in college athletics and we believe he is going to make a significant impact on our department in his role as our Athletic Operations Coordinator."

In his role, Abuelhawa will oversee the athletic department's facilities, helping to coordinate facility scheduling and maintenance. Abuelhawa will also coordinate game day operations, supervising the game day management student staff, in addition to overseeing various financial matters for the department.

"I would like to thank Dr. Brittich, along with the search committee for their time throughout the hiring process. I am excited to start as the Athletic Operations Coordinator, and am looking forward to ensuring all student-athletes have the best opportunities and experiences while performing at this level here at Elmhurst" Abuelhawa said.

Abuelhawa recently earned his Master of Business Administration degree from Elmhurst University In May 2024, serving as the Athletic Department Graduate Assistant during his studies. A four-year member of the Elmhurst football team, Abuelhawa earned his undergraduate degree in Sports Management in May 2022.
