ELMHURST, Ill. – Elmhurst University Athletics has announced the resignation of Peyton Wyatt as head men's golf coach and associate head men's basketball coach. Wyatt will be pursuing a new career path.

"We would like to thank Coach Wyatt for all that he has done during his tenure at Elmhurst. Both our men's basketball and golf programs have significantly benefited from the contributions and leadership Coach Wyatt has provided. He has made a lasting impression on our Bluejay student-athletes and our athletic department" said Dr. Glen Brittich, Director of Athletics.

"For 11 of the past 12 years, Elmhurst has been a huge part of my identity. This has been a place for me to call home. While this is a bittersweet moment as I transition into a new career path, I want to thank the players for letting me be their coach," Wyatt commented. "I also want to thank Coach John Baines for the opportunity to coach alongside him for the past seven years. Elmhurst has always been and will always be relationship-driven, and that's what I will miss the most."

Wyatt began as the Bluejays' head men's golf coach in the 2018-19 season, helping the Jays to six strong seasons. Wyatt guided the Jays to a T-5th finish at the 2023 CCIW Men's Golf Championship, the team's highest finish at the conference championship since 2017, and helped guide runner-up William Davis to one of the best individual seasons in Bluejay history.

As an assistant with the men's basketball program, Wyatt helped the Jays to their most successful stretch in program history, with the team earning three CCIW Tournament Championships resulting in three NCAA Tournament appearances. With Wyatt's assistance, the Jays advanced to the Sweet 16 in 2019-20 before COVID canceled the rest of the tournament, and was on the sideline for Elmhurst's national runner-up squad in the 2021-22 season.

A search for Elmhurst's next head men's golf coach will begin immediately.
