Bloomington Ill. - The CCIW #2 Elmhurst men's lacrosse traveled to CCIW #1 Illinois Wesleyan for a conference match up on Saturday afternoon.
Bluejays (10-3, 2-1 CCIW), were led by
Eli Spence as he scored two goals and added four assists.
Hunter Hernandez added five goals on the day,
Kaden Ames added two goals and an assist, and
Chris Haycock added a goal and an assist.
Gabe Henry, Josh Bandt and
Ethan Stepanek all scored a goal in the contest.
Tony Vazquez went 14 of 31 in face-offs, and
Andrew Lacksonen made 11 saves on the day.
Titans (10-3, 3-0 CCIW), were led by a combination of Noah Dretzka, and Trystan Seeley as they both had five points on the day.
The game would be a back and fourth affair as both teams would trade early goals, the Titans would then go on to score three straight goals with two of them being man-up goals. The Bluejays would add two goals to late in the quarter but the Titants would add one juts seconds before the end of the quarter to lead 5-3. In the second quarter, each team would trade a pair of goals twice to make it a 7-5 gave in favoe of the Titans.
The Bluejays would score one quickly in the third, but the Titans would add three straight goals; the Bluejays would add three them self, and then in the last two minutes of the third the Titans would add three more to take a 13-9 lead. In the fourth, the Bluejays would add four more goals and the Titans would add two more. The Jays couldn't capitalize in the last few minutes of the game and would end up falling to the Titans 15-13.
