Bluejays Fall to Foresters

RECAP

ELMHURST, Ill. - The Elmhurst University women's lacrosse team dropped their first game of the season, 2-19, to Lake Forest College Wednesday evening at Langhorst Field.

The Bluejays kept it close early with the Foresters, with Elmhurst down 3-2 early. However, Lake Forest went on to score 16 unanswered goals across the final three periods to take the non-conference victory and give Elmhurst their first loss of the season.

Elmhurst (1-1) was led by Gracie Eastman and Andrea Murtland, who tallied each Elmhurst goal in the first period. Kendall Schieppe won a pair of draw controls for the Bluejays, while MC Brown picked up a pair of ground balls and forced one turnover. In goal, Jacq Vanoni took the loss but made 11 saves on the evening.

Lake Forest (2-2) had five players record multiple goals in the game, with Jenna Doctor scoring five and adding another two assists, while Ryleigh Nelson picked up a team-leading five assists on the night.
