CHICAGO, Ill. -Â The Elmhurst University baseball team fell to the Illinois Institute of Technology, 0-7, Thursday afternoon.
Elmhurst (4-12) was not able to get the offense going, and late-inning pitching woes proved to be too much for the Jays to overcome in the loss to Illinois Tech (6-11).
Despite no runs,
Zach Kolb managed three hits on the day, while
Ryan Thrawl added two for the Bluejays. The combination of
Zach Keplar,
Spencer Anton,
Malakai Correa, and
Davis Maifield combined to give up just one hit and two walks in the first five innings, but 10 hits and seven runs in the ensuing four innings proved to be the downfall for the Jays in the loss.

Elmhurst will open CCIW conference play tomorrow afternoon, March 29, on the road for a doubleheader against Augustana beginning at 2:00 p.m.
