TAMPA, Fla. -Â The Elmhurst University baseball team dropped a 6-10 decision to New York University Thursday afternoon in the penultimate game of the team's Florida trip.
Elmhurst (4-11) led 4-1 through four innings, and extended it another run through 5 1/2 innings, but walks proved to be the downfall for the Bluejays to NYU (12-3).
The Bluejays had five different players record RBI's in the game, with
Marty Fraga and
Freddie March each producing two hits with a run batted in.
Erik Malott,
Blake Gould, and
Evan Johnson all recorded one RBI in the game as well.
Charlie Smith provided a strong start on the mound without a decision, pitching five innings and giving up just one run, but the Bluejays' bullpen gave up seven runs to ultimatley allow NYU to take the lead and hold on to it.
