Bluejays Dominate Falcons in Sixth Straight Win

Mequon, Wis. - The Elmhurst men's lacrosse team defeated Concordia University Wisconsin 17-9 on Saturday afternoon. 

Bluejays (6-1), were led by Eli Spence as he had five goals and fives assists. Kaden Ames added four goals and two assists, while Jake Grebe also scored four goals and added an assist. Gabe Henry scored a goal and had an assist, while Parker O'Leary contributed two assists. Hunter Hernandez, Brendan Crouse and Ethan Stepanek all added one goal, and Chris Haycock earned one assist. Tony Vazquez went 17 of 29 in faceoffs and Andrew Lacksonen made 10 saves and earned his fifth win of the season. 

Falcons (5-2), were led by Max Esposito as he scored two goals and earned five assists on the day. 

The Bluejays would start off the game hot with three goals in the first two minutes of the game from Grebe, Ames and Henry. The Falcons would score two to bring the game within one goal. Grebe would score his second of the day yet the Falcons would answer right back again. And in the last minute of the first quarter, Stepanek would score to bring the lead back to two.

It was the Falcons turn to start the second quarter hot as they would score three unanswered goals and take a 6-5 lead. The Bluejays would storm right back and score five unanswered goals by Ames, Crouse and three by Spence to take a 10-6 lead into halftime. 

In the third the Falcons would strike first but the Bluejays would rally off seven straight goals all the way to the fourth quarter with goals being scored by, Hernandez, and two by Grebe, Ames, and Spence. The Falcons would add a couple late goals but the Bluejays would take care of business with the final being 17-9.

The Bluejays will travel to Washington and Lee University on Wednesday, March 20th at 7:00pm.
