Bluejays Win Back-To-Back

Elmhurst Ill. - The Elmhurst men's lacrosse team hosted Hope College for their third contest of the year, defeating Hope 12-8.

Bluejays (2-1), were led by Kaden Ames, as he score three goals and Eli Spence as he score two goals and three assists for five points. Parker O'Leary scoring two goals and an assist, Hunter Hernandez scored two goals, Jake Grebe scored a goal and an assist, Brenden Crouse netted two assists, and Chris Haycock scored two goals. 

Tony Vazquez won 15 of 24 faceoffs and Andrew Lacksonen made 16 saves in his first win of the season. 

Flying Dutchmen (1-1), was led by Sam Bowen who scored two goals and added three assists. 

The first quarter was led by the Dutchmen as they would take a 3-1 with the lone goal being scored by O'Leary. In the second, the Bluejays would score quick with a goal by Spence, but the Dutchmen would answer just over a minute later. The Bluejays would score three straight goals, two scored by Ames and assisted by Spence, and the third by O'Leary to take a 5-4 lead. The Dutchmen would score one more before the half tying the game five all.

The Ducthmen would score first in the third, but that would be the last time they would hold the lead as the Bluejays would score seven straight between the third and fourth quarter. In the third the scorers were Haycock, Hernandez, Spence, and Ames. In the fourth, Hernandez man-up, Haycock and Grebe. The Duchmen would score two quick goals just under five minutes left, but the Bluejays would settle in defensively and win this one 12-8.

The Bluejays will return to action on next Saturday, March 2nd, as they will host Albion College at 1:00 pm.
