CHICAGO, Ill. - The Elmhurst University women's track and field team took on tough competition at the DePaul Blue Demon Holiday Invite on Friday (Dec. 13) at Gately Indoor Track.
The Bluejays had a tremendous showing in a competition with Division I and II opponents, holding their own with a few strong performances. Overall, five different Bluejays had personal bests, three had top-ten mark in Elmhurst history, and two achieved new school records.
FULL RESULTS
60m Dash
- Alyssa Busker sprinted to a 2nd-place finish with a blazing time of 7.46.
- Lauren Marshall tied her personal best with a time of 7.72 in qualifications, placing 7th overall.
- Carmela Woods ran a personal best of 8.02, earning 16th place and notching the seventh-fastest time in school history.
- Hannah Schwarz tied her personal best with a time of 8.09, finishing 20th and recording the ninth-fastest time in school history.
60m Hurdles
- Tiana Grady ran a season-best of 8.88 in qualifications, earning a 7th-place finish.
200m
- Busker shattered the school record, clocking 24.51 to claim 3rd place.
300m
- Carmela Woods continued her stellar day by setting a school record of 41.57, finishing 6th.
400m
- Nayeli Villegas fought hard in the 400m, securing 8th place with a time of 1:01.43.
Long Jump
- Paulina Tinajero achieved a monumental leap of 5.80m, earning 3rd place and setting a new school record.
- Lauren Marshall also shone in the event, recording a personal best of 5.75m, the second-best mark in school history, to place 5th.

The Bluejays are back in action in the new year on Saturday, Jan. 18th, at the I-55 Invite in Bloomington, Ill.
