WHEATON, Ill. -Â The Elmhurst University football team fell, 65-17, on the road at No. 23 Wheaton College Saturday afternoon.
Wheaton moved to 6-2 overall, and 6-1 in CCIW action, while Elmhurst fell to 2-6 overall and 2-5 in conference.
While the Bluejays managed to move their offense to the tune of 284 total yards, Wheaton outgained the Bluejays by over 200 yards with 548, including 268 through the air and 260 on the ground.
Despite the 284 yards of total offense, Elmhurst could not find the endzone more than two times in the game. Joh Odom found
Jacob Cockrell for their lone touchdown through the air, while
Taveon Porter added a rushing touchdown on the afternoon. Kicker
Marco Davila added a 29-yard field goal in the first quarter to complete the EU scoring.
The aforementioned Cockrell totaled five receptions for 85 yards to lead the team, while Porter had 109 yards on the ground on 25 rushes.
On the defensive side of the ball,
Charles Scott and
Jace Zeffiro each had six tackles, with Scott adding a tackle-for-loss, while
Etor Agbenya forced a fumble and added a four-yard sack.

Elmhurst travels to Naperville, Ill. next Saturday, November 9, for a matchup against No. 1 North Central at 12:00 pm.
