DECATUR, Ill. -Â The Elmhurst University women's volleyball team fell in straight sets to No. 8 Millikin University Wednesday evening on the road.
Elmhurst (7-7, 0-3 CCIW) battled in set one, falling 24-26 in extra points, before being handled, 12-25, in set two. In set three, the Bluejays found more fight, but fell 22-25 to be swept in their third CCIW match of the season.
The nationally-ranked Big Blue (18-2, 3-0) continued their strong start to the season, but were held to just .192 hitting in the match by the Jays. The Big Blue found their advantage from the service line, tallying 11 aces to Elmhurst's four and 15 Bluejay service errors to just seven for the Big Blue.
Jada Wiley and
Blair Johnson each tallied nine kills on the evening for the Jays, while
Bryanna Stanford added three solo blocks and three kills on the night.Â
