ELMHURST, Ill. - The Elmhurst University women's volleyball team fell to North Central in a five-set thriller at R.A. Faganel Hall Friday evening.
Elmhurst (7-8, 0-4 CCIW) played a balanced match on the evening, leading in nearly every statistical category. However, errors and a tough Cardinal serve proved to be difficult for the Jays, preventing the home side from their first CCIW victory of the season.
North Central (12-5, 2-1 CCIW) was able to prevail over Elmhurst for the first time since 2009 thanks to a strong offensive attack, with two players hitting double-digit kills and the team commiting just 19 errors to Elmhurst's 31.
Elmhurst found success on the outside pin in the match, with
Elise Rossing tallying 12 kills to just four errors, while
Keely Larson stepped it up on the service line with six aces in the match.
