ELMHURST, Ill. - The Elmhurst University women's volleyball team capped homecoming weekend on campus with a 3-0 sweep of Alverno College Saturday evening inside R.A. Faganel Hall.
Elmhurst (9-2, 0-2 CCIW) dominated the match early and often, holding the Inferno (1-9, 0-3 NACC) below 15 points in each set. Leading the Bluejays on the offensive front was
Lucy Anderson, who tallied 10 kills and added a pair of block assists.
Kali Phillips tallied eight kills on the match, while
Aly Reardon collected six kills and six digs.
Kellyn Kennedy tallied 22 assists and three service aces on the evening, while
Payton Ceh grabbed 19 digs.
The Bluejays started fast, leading set one 13-3 and later winning the opening set, 25-12. In set two, kills from Reardon, Phillips, and Anderson opened a 10-2 lead. Long scoring runs peppered set two, with another 15-6 run to take set two, 25-10. Kennedy began set three with a long service run, including a pair of aces, opening a 10-0 lead before the Bluejay reserves got in to the action. Kills from

The Bluejays will head down the road for a non-conference matchup at Dominican University on Tuesday, Sep. 26, with first serve scheduled for 7:00 p.m. CT.
