RIVER FOREST, Ill. - The Elmhurst University volleyball team had a dominating evening, sweeping Dominican University, 3-0, Tuesday evening on the road.

Elmhurst (10-2, 0-2 CCIW) held the Stars to 12 points or less in each of the three sets, and dominated in all assets of the match with a .527 attack percentage, eight service aces, and ten blocks.

The Bluejays were led by Lucy Anderson and Kali Phillips, who both tallied double-digit kills with 12 and 11 kills, respectively, also adding five blocks between the two attackers. Jada Wiley tallied four service aces on the evening and collected nine digs, while Payton Ceh notched 15 digs. Kellyn Kennedy served up 21 assists in the match.

Both teams started even before a 7-2 run opened a 10-5 lead. Anderson and Phillips began to heat up, putting down a pair of kills to extend their lead to eight. The Stars errors began to pile up, leading to a 8-1 run and a 25-10 opening-set victory.

In the second, a 2-2 stalemate was broke by a pair of aces from Wiley, and more strong serving from Anderson extended the Bluejay lead to five. Phillips and Anderson again helped the Bluejays seal a 25-12 set two victory with a 7-1 closing run.

The domination continued in the third set, with Wiley beginning set three with a five-point burst. After the Stars cut the deficit to four, Ceh began a serving run of 13-straight points to finish set three with a 25-8 win, sealing the sweep.

The Bluejays will face their toughest challenge yet on Friday, Sep. 29, facing off against the eighth-ranked UW-Whitewater Warhawks on the road for a 7:00 p.m. CT first serve.
