ELMHURST, Ill. – Melissa Schwab will transition to a new role as Student-Athlete Success Coach, and remain as the head coach of Elmhurst women's golf.
"Melissa has proven herself to be an invaluable resource to our student-athletes and our athletic department. As we continue to build a strong foundation of support for the success of our student-athletes, we are extremely excited to have Melissa as an integral part of our student-athlete support team," Elmhurst University Director of Athletics Glen Brittich said. "Her passion for Bluejay student-athletes is second to none and I am positive our student-athletes will greatly benefit from her new role as our Student-Athlete Success Coach."

"Student-athlete success will enhance their experience in the classroom, their athletic performance as well as elevate their preparation for their years after their collegiate careers. I look forward to this new endeavor!"
In her new role, Schwab will focus on ensuring the success of each and every Bluejay student-athlete, working as a close advisor to the Athletic department. Schwab will also focus on first-year student enrollment and retention, at-risk academic students, and ways to improve the student-athlete experience here at Elmhurst University.
A valuable member of the Elmhurst Athletics staff, Schwab recently attended the 2023 NCAA Women's Coaches Academy Programs, hosted by WeCOACH, and used her time at the four-day event to elevate her leadership skills and heard the experiences of championship coaches, including this year's keynote speaker, Dawn Staley of the University of South Carolina women's basketball team.
In addition to her new role, Schwab will remain the head coach of the Elmhurst women's golf program. Schwab will enter her second season as head coach, after the 2022-23 season saw the Bluejays place no worse than 5
th in all tournaments across the season, including a fourth-place finish at the 2022 CCIW Women's Golf Championship.
Schwab will assume her new duties immediately.
