JACKSONVILLE, Ill. – The Elmhurst University men's and women's track and field teams ran at the Illinois College True Blue Invite on Friday, April 7.
The women won the meet with a team score of 179.5 and the men checked into fifth-place with 68 points.
On the men's side, Rickey Martinez raced into fifth-place in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.20. Martinez also jumped into third-place in the long jump with a distance of 6.50 meters.
Braxston Redmond earned a sixth-place finish in the 200-meter dash with a time of 23.06. He also won the event title in the 400-meter dash with a time of 48.93 seconds.
Marvin Tchangwa finished in fourth-place in the 800-meter run with a 1:57.02, while
Brandon Pounders checked into eighth-place in the 5000-meter run with a time of 16:51.48.
Eric Jandura ran a 16.60 second time in the 110-meter hurdles to earn a fourth-place finish, while
Andrew Wieser won the event title in the 400-meter hurdles with a 58.33.
The 4x100 relay featuring Julian Cavallo, Michael Colant,
Luca Ferrantelli and Redmond, raced into fifth-place with a time of 43.85 seconds.
Logan Turney cleared a height of 4.01 meters in the pole vault for a third-place finish, while Brett von Schwedler won the event tile in the javelin throw with a distance of 45.30 meters.
On the women's side,
Huda Hussaini earned the event title in both the 100-meter dash and the 200-meter dash with times of 12.26 and 25.54 seconds respectively.
Lauren Marshall checked into second-place in the 100-meter dash with a time 12.59 seconds, while
Hannah Schwarz finished in sixth-place with a 13.03 in the same event.
Ava David won the event title in the 400-meter dash with a 58.34, while teammate
Naomi Jones clocked in just behind David for a second-place finish with a time of 59.32 seconds.
Venezia Munoz earned a second-place finish in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:22.41, while
Alyssa Rafuse earned the event title in the 1500-meter run with a 4:45.67.
Esther Brown finished right after Rafuse in the same event to earn a second-place finish with a time of 4:59.94.
Nakala Nadeau earned the event title in the 100-meter hurdles with a 14.47 second time.
Annie Bieda and
Molly Glover finished in fourth and sixth-place respectively in the 5000-meter run with times of 19:16.96 and 19.47.22.
Gianna Konieczny finished in second-place in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1.11.15, while Kayley Burke earned a fourth-place in the same event with a time of 1:14.96.
Anna Kovats clocked in a time of 12:47.78 in the 3000-meter steeplechase to check into second-place, while the 4x100 relay team featuring Marshall, David, Schwarz and Hussaini earned the event title with a time of 47.31 seconds.
The 4x400 relay team featuring Jones, David, Munoz and Rafuse also took home the event title with a time of 4:01.46.
Vashayla Bradley and
Angelina Camaci placed fifth and sixth in the high jump with cleared heights of 1.45 meters and 1.40 meters.
Kelsey Becker cleared a height of 3.10 meters in the pole vault to earn a second-place finish, while Marshall jumped into fourth-place in the long jump with a distance of 5.07 meters.
Erin Matthias finished in fourth-place in the triple jump with a distance of 10.24 meters, while
Sarah Stephens checked into sixth-place in the javelin throw with a distance of 27.06 meters.
The Bluejay track and field teams head to meets all over the country next weekend, including the California State LA Twilight, Bryan Clay Invitational and the Wheaton College Invite.
