ELMHURST, Ill. – The Elmhurst University women's lacrosse team suffered a 0-24 setback on senior day to Carthage College at Langhorst Field.

Carthage (9-6/2-2 CCIW) netted six goals in the first quarter and went on to score 18 more goals throughout the remainder of the contest in route to its second conference victory.

The Firebirds were led by Piper Lefevre who finished with four goals two assists. Maddie Berni and Shannon Heitschmidt added in three goals and two assists apiece, while Elizabeth chipped in four goals of her own in the win. Lefevre also won a game-high six draw controls.

Elmhurst (0-10/0-4 CCIW) was led by Kendall Schieppe who recorded one shot, one groundball and caused one turnover. Andrea Murtland won four draw controls and tallied one shot, while Rosita Hepperle picked up a team-high three groundballs in the loss.

Corinna Salmon collected nine saves in goal for the Bluejays, while Alessandra Almendarez earned the win for Carthage with two saves.

The Bluejays head to Bloomington, Ill. for their next contest to take on Illinois Wesleyan on Monday April 24 at 4:00 p.m.
