ELMHURST, Ill. – The Elmhurst University women's lacrosse team dropped its third conference contest to North Central College, 17-0, in a shortened game at Langhorst Field.
Because of the inclement weather looming, the contest started earlier than expected and ended with 6:25 remaining in the third quarter.
The Cardinals (4-10/1-2 CCIW) held a decisive 7-0 lead at the end of the opening period. They added in 10 more goals before the end of the contest earning their first CCIW victory.
Abby Mackenzie led the way for North Central scoring five goals and winning seven draw controls. Teammates Tanya Czosek and Abbey Triebe followed closely behind scoring three goals and dishing out one assist apiece in the win. Lucy Culig also netted a hattrick for the Cardinals.
Elmhurst's (0-9/0-3 CCIW)
Kendall Schieppe recorded two shots, while
Jacq Vanoni and
Andrea Murtland each won two draw controls in the loss.
Bella Larocco earned the win in goal for North Central with three saves, while
Savannah Sannes collected one save for the Bluejays.
