LOS ANGELES/AZUSA, Calif. – A group of Elmhurst University track and field athletes traveled to southern California to compete in a pair of meets at California State University LA and Azusa Pacific University.
At the Cal State LA Twilight,
Ava David raced into sixth-place in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.08.
Huda Hussaini and
Lauren Marshall followed closely behind earning seventh and tenth-place finishes respectively with times of 12.11 and 12.23 seconds.
Venezia Munoz checked into fifth-place in the 800-meter run with a 2:26.61, while
Nakala Nadeau clocked in a 14.22 second time in the 100-meter hurdles to earn a fifth-place finish as well.
The 4x100 relay team featuring,
Hannah Schwarz, Marshall, David and Hussaini finished in second-place with a time of 47.34 seconds.
Up next was the Bryan Clay Invitational hosted by Azusa Pacific. On the men's side,
Braxston Redmond ran a 48.52 second time in the 400-meter dash to earn a 28
th-place finish.
In the field events, Rickey Martinez jumped a distance of 13.39 meters which earned him a 28
th-place finish, while Brett von Schwedler also finished in 28
th-place in the javelin throw with a distance of 41.38 meters.
On the women's side,
Huda Hussaini ran a 12.19 in the 100-meter dash with a 37
th-place finish.
Ava David checked into 36
th-place in the 200-meter dash with a time of 24.57 seconds and finished in 51
st-place in the 400-meter dash with a 57.05.
Alyssa Rafuse clocked in a 4:36.20 time in the 1500-meter run for a 113
th-place finish, while
Vanessa Carr jumped into 64
th-place with a distance of 10.79 meters.
The Bluejay track and field teams reunite to compete at full strength at the Don Church Twilight on Saturday, April 22 at 11:00.
