WAUKESHA, Wis. – The Elmhurst University women's lacrosse team fell, 21-1, in its conference-opener against Carroll University at Schneider Stadium.
The Pioneers (10-2/2-0 CCIW) scored 17 unanswered goals before
Gracie Eastman put the Bluejays on the board with the sole Elmhurst goal of the contest.
Carroll added in four more goals to cruise to a 21-1 conference victory.
Andrea Murtland picked up a team-high four groundballs, while also winning one draw control for the Bluejays (0-7/0-1 CCIW).
Clara Jelacic led the way for Carroll with eight points featuring seven goals and one assist. Rebecca Hallman followed closely behind with three goals and four assists, while Trina Hardin netted a hattrick of goals and an assist in the win. Jelacic also tallied a game-high nine caused turnovers to go along with 20 won draw controls and 13 groundballs.
Corinna Salmon collected seven saves in goal for Elmhurst, while Alicia Van Dale earned the win for the Pioneers with three saves.
The Bluejays continue conference play at the University of Chicago on Saturday, April 15 at 1:00 p.m.
