MADISON, Wis. – The Elmhurst University women's lacrosse team suffered a 4-15 setback at Edgewood College on Wednesday evening.
Edgewood's Emma Raupp netted the first goal of the contest with 9:14 remaining in the opening quarter, but less than a minute later
Gracie Eastman tied things up with a goal of her own.
The Eagles went on to score seven unanswered goals before
Andrea Murtland scored her first goal of the contest to send the Bluejays into the locker room down 11-2 at the half.
Edgewood (2-4) outscored Elmhurst 4-2 in the second half in route to victory.
Elmhurst (0-5) was led by Murtland who finished with a pair of goals and won four draw controls. Eastman and
Jacq Vanoni each added in one goal apiece for the Bluejays.
Corinna Salmon picked up a team-high six groundballs in the loss.
Kendra Sanderfoot led the way for the Eagles with six points featuring four goals and two assists. Raupp finished with four goals and won a team-high five draw controls. Lily Drinkwine, Natalie Skaife and Rachel Unitan each added in two goals for Edgewood in the win.
Alexis Vogt earned the win in goal for the Eagles with 10 saves, while Salmon collected nine saves for Elmhurst.
The Bluejays return to Langhorst Field on Saturday, April 1 to take on Franklin College at 1:00 pm.
