Baseball Drops Doubleheader Against Kalamazoo College

RECAP

WESTFIELD, Ind. - The Elmhurst University baseball team dropped both ends of a doubleheader to Kalamazoo Colege on Saturday, March 11 at the Grand Park Sports Complex.

Elmhurst (3-6, 0-0 CCIW) scored just three runs on the day, all coming in game one, and struggled to keep the Hornets off the board throughout both games.

Freddie March led the way for the Bluejays at the plate, combining to go 4-for-7 with an RBI on the day, while Jesse James provided the other RBI for the Bluejays.

On the mound, Zach Keplar had a good outing in relief in game two, pitching 2.0 innings without giving up a hit while also picking up a strikeout. After a five-run outing in the first two innings of game one, Eric Zbinden came on in relief and helped slow the pace of the Hornet's offense, pitching four innings and giving up just four hits and two runs while picking up a strikeout.

UP NEXT

Elmhurst will begin their four-day, six-game spring break trip to central Florida on Sunday, March 19 in a doubleheader against Bard College in Auburndale, Fla.
