ALLENDALE, Mich. – The Elmhurst University men's and women's track and field teams competed with a small group of athletes in the Grand Valley State University Big Meet.

On the women's side, Alyssa Rafuse broke the school record she set at the Aurora Grand Prix on Jan. 28 (5:02.40) with the best time of her career 4:59.07 to earn a third-place finish. Her time currently leads the conference by over 14 seconds.

Ava David clocked into eighth-place with a time of 7.70 seconds in the 60-meter dash. Her time also sits atop the CCIW leaderboard. Teammate Huda Hussaini earned a 19^th-place finish in the same event with a 7.82 second time, which is the second-fastest time in the conference.

Nakala Nadeau finished 17^th in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.99 seconds.

On the men's side, Braxston Redmond earned a 11^th-place finish in the 400-meter dash with a conference-leading time of 49.05 seconds. Dylan Moran checked into seventh-place with a 15:24.40 in the 5000-meter run.

The rest of the track and field teams head to Bloomington, Ill. to compete in the Titan Open tomorrow with events kicking off at 10:45 a.m.
