NAPERVILLE, Ill. -Â
Ocean Johnson, a senior member of the Elmhurst University men's basketball team, earned College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Student-Athlete of the Week honors, as announced by the conference office Monday afternoon.
Johnson, a native of Schiller Park, Ill., earned weekly honors from the conference after averaging 18.5 points across a pair of victories last week, including a game-high 26 point, eight rebound performance in a 74-59 Bluejay victory over No. 22 Carthage last Saturday.
The senior also added 11 points and six rebounds in an 88-65 victory over Marian last Wednesday evening. Johnson ranks third in scoring on the team, averaging 12.5 points per game, and is second in rebounds with 5.9 per game. He earns his first-career weekly honor from the conference office, and is the second Bluejay in a row to earn the honor following
Tagen Pearson's selection last week.
Johnson and the 21st-ranked Bluejays return to action this Sunday, Dec. 17, hosting Lawrence in the night cap of a doubleheader with the women's basketball team, with tipoff set for 6:00 p.m. CT.
