ELMHURST, Ill. -Â The Elmhurst University football team fell, 8-31, to the North Park Vikings Saturday afternoon at Langhorst Field.
Elmhurst (2-7, 1-7 CCIW) held the Vikings scoreless in the first quarter, but a 24-point second quarter proved to be enough to allow North Park (5-4, 4-4 CCIW) to secure the victory.
On offense, Elmhurst found their lone score on a touchdown pass from
Connor Buyck (11-for-27 for 118 yards) to
Jacob Cockrell (four receptions for 56 yards), with
Bryce Pagel securing the two-point conversion for Elmhurst.
Defensively,
Bryce Gable tallied 12 total tacks (six solo, six assisted) while adding a sack for a nine-yard loss.
Chris Reaves tallied 11 tackles (eight solo) and a pass break up, while
Jeffrey Leighliter and
Connor Devries grabbed interceptions in the game.
UP NEXT
Elmhurst will hit the road next week, traveling to Bloomington, Ill. for a 1:00 p.m. CT kickoff at Illinois Wesleyan to wrap up the 2023 season.
