BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Elmhurst University football team wrapped up the 2023 season with a 13-49 defeat at Illinois Wesleyan Saturday afternoon.
Elmhurst (2-8, 1-8 CCIW) was unable to gain any momentum offensively, totaling just 34 rushing yards and 108 passing yards, while the Titans (3-7, 3-6 CCIW) found success on the ground with 188 net rushing yards and four rushing touchdowns.
The Bluejays found scores from
Zach Norman's rushing touchdown in the first quarter, and three-yard touchdown pass from
Connor Buyck to R.J. Anderson with 3:45 to go in the game.Â
Defensivley,
Bryce Gable led Elmhurst with nine tackles, with 3.5 going for a loss and one sack, while
Jace Zeffiro matched Gable's nine tackles while adding 1.5 tackles for loss.
Connor Devries grabbed two interceptions on the day, while
Jake Masco and
Daniel Dowling recorded sacks in the game.Â
