ELMHURST, Ill. -Â The Elmhurst University footbal team fell to the No. 13 Wheaton Thunder, 6-61, Saturday evening at Langhorst Field.
Elmhurst (1-4, 0-4 CCIW) fell behind early, trailing by 27 points through one quarter and 42 points at halftime, while the Thunder (4-1, 3-1 CCIW) put together 491 yards of total offense and limited Elmhurst to six points to take the convincing victory.
For the Bluejays,
Andrey Acosta went 16-for-28 with 117 passing yards and an interception, also tossing the game's only points by connecting with
Seth Desmore for a short touchdown catch.
On the defensive side,
Bryce Gable tallied a season-high 16 tackles (six solo, ten assisted), also tallying 3.5 tackles for loss, while
Chris Reaves knocked away three passes and grabbed seven total tackles.

Elmhurst will hit the road for a 1:00 p.m. CT kickoff at Carroll University next Saturday, Oct. 14 in Waukesha, Wis.Â
