ELMHURST, Ill. -Â The Elmhurst University women's volleyball team earned their second-straight sweep Saturday evening against Loras College inside R.A. Faganel Hall.
Elmhurst (13-7, 1-4 CCIW) used a balanced offensive attack and a strong presence at the net the win over the Duhawks (10-13, 1-3 ARC).Â
Leading the Bluejays was
Aly Reardon, who collected nine kills and 14 digs, while
Keely Larson notched nine kills, three blocks, and a service ace on the night.
Lucy Anderson recieved four solo blocks on the night, while
Savannah Davis collected 11 digs and a pair of aces at the service line.
Loras found eight kills from Cat Meyer to go with nine digs, while the team hit just .089 in the match.
Both teams were even early, leading to a nine-all score midway through the first set. From there, Elmhurst outscored the Duhawks 9-2 powered by
Elise Rossing, opening a 19-12 lead which the Bluejays kept to win set one, 25-17. In the second set, Elmhurst went ahead early before a spurt of scoring from Loras kept the set score close. The Duhawks again evened the set at ten at the midway point, but another Elmhurst 7-2 scoring run opened a 17-12 lead which the Bluejays converted to a 25-19 second set win. From there, the Bluejays continued to stay ahead of the visitors, using a Reardon kill to seal the set three victory, 26-16, and a sweep over Loras.

Elmhurst will return to CCIW action on Wednesday, Oct. 25, hosting Carthage College for a 6:00 p.m. CT first serve.
