BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Elmhurst University women's volleyball team fell in five sets to Illinois Wesleyan University Tuesday evening on the road.
Elmhurst (11-7, 1-4 CCIW) went down two sets to none, but fought back to even the match at two sets a piece, forcing a decisive fifth set. However, the Bluejays were unable to maintain the momentum from the previous two sets and fell in their first five-set match of the conference season.
Aly Reardon contributed another double-double performance with 12 kills and 13 digs, while
Lucy Anderson tallied her eighth match with double-digit kills with 11 kills. Senior libero
Payton Ceh tallied 13 digs in the contest, which allowed her to surpass 1,000 career digs as a Bluejay.
Kellyn Kennedy notched 27 assists, while
Elise Rossing collected 10 kills.
The Titans (8-12, 4-3 CCIW) were led by Taylor French, who tallied 27 kills and 17 digs, recording 33.5 points for the hosts in the match.
UP NEXT
Elmhurst will break from CCIW action this weekend, hosting a pair of matches with Illinois Insititute of Technology and Loras College on Friday and Saturday, October 20-21, with each game beginning at 7:00 and 5:00 p.m., respectivley.
