Rock Island Ill. - The Elmhurst University Men's Soccer team won Wednesday night 5-1, against Augustana.
The Bluejays (3-8-2, 2-3 CCIW) had five individual goal scorers on the night,
Edmund Conroy,
Luis Aviles,
Ilija Jerinic,
Roland Dearborn,
Jonathan Mueller. The Bluejays had 18 shots on the night, five of which came from Jerinic, four from Mueller and three from Aviles.
Niyen Ruffin also had three saves on the night to secure a 5-1 win for the Bluejays.
The Vikings (0-10-2, 0-5 CCIW) were led in scoring by Ben Statz and got an assist from Jarrett Baumgartner. The Vikings were led in shots by Jimmie Kucaba with five of their 12 shots.
Conroy scored the first goal of the game from a free kick in the 2nd minute of the game, with Aviles scoring from a penalty kick goal in the 11th minute. The teams would trade chances and end the half 2-0. The Vikings would then get one back from a Statz goal, but that would be as close as the Vikings would get as the Bluejays would add three more goals from Jerinic, Dearborn, and Mueller all coming in the last 20 minutes of the game to give the Bluejays a 5-1 victory.
