Elmhurst Track and Field Runs at I-55 Invite

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – The Elmhurst University track and field teams traveled to Illinois Wesleyan University to compete in the I-55 Invite.

On the men's side, Braxston Redmond checked into third-place in his first ever 200-meter dash with a time of 23.06 seconds. His time puts him in the top-six times in Elmhurst history.

Eric Jandura earned a spot in the 60-meter hurdle finals and a fifth-place finish after shaving 0.4 seconds off his previous time for a personal best of 9.12 seconds.

Rickey Martinez earned a seventh-place finish in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.34 seconds.

On the women's side, Ava David won both the 60-meter dash and the 200-meter dash. David's 7.72 second time in the 60-meter dash is currently third in the nation and her 25.45 second time in the 200-meter dash checks in at number six in the nation.

Huda Hussaini posted a 7.89 second time in the 60-meter dash to earn a second-place finish and a 26.22 second time in the 200-meter dash to check into third-place. Hussaini's 60-meter time ranks third in conference and her 200-meter time ranks fourth in the CCIW.

Nakala Nadeau finished second in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.97. She currently holds the eighth fastest time in the nation.

Lauren Marshall jumped a lifetime best in the long jump with a distance of 5.13 meters. This distance puts her in the top-six in the conference. Esther Brown earned a 10th-place finish and ran a personal best in the mile with a time of 5:25.2. Her time is the third best in the CCIW right now.

Naomi Jones made her collegiate debut in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:01.87 seconds. Her time ranks third in the CCIW.

In pole vault, Kate Weber cleared three meters for the first time in her collegiate career. Her 3.05-meter clearance earned her a sixth-place finish and in the top-three in Elmhurst history.

The Bluejays track and field teams compete next at the Aurora Grand Prix at the Gately Indoor Track and Field Center. The men hit the track on Friday, Jan. 27, while the events for the women start at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 28.
