ELMHURST, Ill. – Keep up with all of the Elmhurst University athletic teams and take a look at the week ahead with the Bluejay Weekly, released every Monday afternoon.

This week (January 2-7), the Bluejay men's basketball team hits the road for a pair of CCIW conference matchups, while the women's basketball team returns to R.A. Faganel Hall on Wednesday, Jan. 4 and joins the men's team at North Park on Saturday, Jan. 7. Elmhurst University wrestling also begins a stretch of three-straight contests inside R.A. Faganel Hall, beginning this Friday (Jan. 6) hosting Wheaton College (Ill.) for a CCIW dual meet.

MEN'S BASKETBALL

Heading into the new year fresh off an 84-80 victory over No. 11 Calvin last Friday (Dec. 30) in Elmhurst, the Bluejays finished the first half of the season with a 9-4 record and a 1-3 mark in the CCIW, including an 8-1 record in nonconference action. 

The Bluejays begin their CCIW conference stretch with a pair of road games, kicking off the week on Wednesday, Jan. 4 at Millikin University for a 7:00 p.m. CT tipoff. Then, Elmhurst heads to Chicago for a matchup against the conference-leading Vikings of North Park University for a 4:15 p.m. CT tipoff following the women's basketball game.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL

Last week, the Bluejays dropped their final nonconference matchup at Coe College 47-72, but are 1-1 in their final two contests of the 2022 season after defeating Thiel College 70-53 in their final game of the Florida trip.

The Bluejays will look to get back on track as they begin their conference schedule in the coming weeks, beginning this Wednesday (Jan. 4) where Elmhurst will host Augustana Colege (Ill.) for a 7:00 p.m. CT tipoff inside R.A. Faganel Hall. The Bluejay women will then kickoff a road doubleheader with the men's team this Saturday (Jan. 7) at North Park at 2:00 p.m. CT. 

WRESTLING

The Bluejays have been off the mat since their trip to Nashville, Tenn. for the Gator Boots Duals on Dec. 17. At the event, the Bluejays went 2-1 in dual matches with victories over Fontbonne University (44-10) and The College of the Ozarks (34-20).

Elmhurst will kick off the new year with three-straight contests at home, beginning this Friday (Jan. 6) hosting Wheaton College (Ill.) for a CCIW dual meet at 7:00 p.m. CT. inside R.A. Faganel Hall.
