ALMA, Mich. – The Elmhurst University men's soccer team evened its record with a decisive, 5-0, win over Alma College.
The Bluejays dominated offensively from the start scoring four goals over 10 minutes of play in the first half.
Noah Backhaus led the way with two goals and one assist, while
Gavin Gilman and
Eric Berezne each tallied one goal apiece.
Elmhurst's (4-4-1)
James Serrano netted the only goal of the second half to secure the victory for the Bluejays.
Chris Henry collected nine saves in goal for Alma (2-6-0), while
Noah Reed earned the shutout for Elmhurst with three saves.
The Bluejays are back in action on Saturday, October 1 at 5:00 p.m. against Carroll University at Langhorst Field.
